About Us

History

Founded in 1982 and originally playing on a sand pitch behind Al Ain English Speaking School, the Amblers moved to the AESGC in 2007 and have transformed the Rugby Club into a major gathering place for the expat community of Al Ain.

The Rugby Club prides itself on being a family focused facility catering for all sports enthusiasts and continually striving not only to enhance the existing facilities, but also to develop new facilities for the members to enjoy. Visitors are always welcome in the Amblers bar and restaurant. Day passes for the swimming pool and gymnasium are available at the Clubhouse. Come and give it a try!

More About Us

At the Amblers, we offer rugby and netball teams for adults and children, starting from age five all the way to veteran players. Beyond team sports, our club is a hub for a wide range of activities, including social touch rugby, darts, cricket, tennis, boot camp, football, Gaelic football, and a dedicated children’s playground. We also provide swimming lessons in our beautiful pool.

For those who prefer to unwind rather than compete, our clubhouse features both a main bar and a poolside bar, serving a fantastic selection of beverages and delicious, affordable food. Whether you’re here to play, socialize, or simply enjoy the welcoming atmosphere, there’s something for everyone at the Amblers.
